Q. How log have you been in business?

A. Little Green Apples Child Care has been in operation since August 2011.

Q. Are you a licensed child care provider?

A. Yes, we are licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, license # 9018846.

A. We are open Monday thru Friday from 7:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Q. When are you closed?

A. We are closed on all Federal holidays, and when the Acton-Boxboro school system is closed due to inclement weather. We also close two separate weeks for vacation during the year, one week during August and the year-end Holiday week. Adequate notice will be given in advance.

Q. Will I be charged on days you are closed?

A. You will not be charged when we are closed for Federal holidays, when we take vacation time or when I close for a personal health appointment or illness. We do charge for days closed due to inclement weather.

Q. How many children can you enroll at one time?

A. We are licensed for up to 6 children in attendance.

We can accommodate toddlers (15+ months) and preschool students (3-5 years).

Q. How flexible are you with pickup and drop-off times?

A. Please call or text if you will be late. Drop off should be no later than 9:00am. Late pick-ups may result in additional fees.

Q. How many hours per day may I leave a child in your care?

A. The time between drop-off and pick-up on any given day may not exceed 9 hours. This is strictly enforced. As much as we love children, we believe the best environment for them is their own home.

Q. Do you have an open-door policy?

A. Parents are always welcome to visit during the day! Please keep in mind that ‘circle-time’ begins at 9:00am and ‘quiet time’ is from 1:00-3:00pm.

Q. How do you communicate a child’s progress with parents? Will you give me a daily report or is there another process for informing parents of what children did during the day (naps, bottles, BMs, etc.)?

A. We provide periodic written progress reports in accordance with EEC regulations. I have daily reports for parents of toddlers and inform parents of our older students of our daily activities verbally at pick-up

Q. Can I bring my child in for a pre-enrollment visit?

A. Yes! Families must visit the center prior to enrollment. The first visit will occur outside of school hours. I also offer two 2-hour play dates for new children. This gives the family and child opportunity to become comfortable with the new transitions and environment. These are not required, but highly suggested to ensure that my program is a good fit for your family.

Q. What do you expect from me as a parent?

A. Please advise us at least one hour prior to the scheduled Drop Off time if a child will not be attending daycare due to illness or family matter. It is strongly recommended that parents always have a backup plan for their child’s care in the event of an unforeseen illness or injury to the provider. Parents agree that a child who is ill with a potentially contagious illness will be kept at home to protect the well-being of the child and other children in my care.  Should a child become ill while in care that immediate arrangements will be made to remove the child from the daycare. A child will not be allowed to return to daycare until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours. In some cases, a note from a doctor may be necessary.
